Manure
Management Feasibility Studies
Manure and other wastes on a farm should be managed in an energy-efficient,
environmentally friendly, and economical manner. A manure management system
could include treatment processes such as digestion, separation, aeration and
composting, storage, transport, and the use/sale of by-products such as methane,
electricity, and compost. Most of these processes will either consume energy or
produce useful energy.

A feasibility study can be conducted to determine the best system for a
particular farm. For New York State farmers, this study may be co-funded by NYSERDA.
